Finding a way to have a normal life with a disability can be difficult. Especially if it's a disability that's difficult to diagnose. Something with the brain is almost always going to be impossible for you to properly diagnose because it's a complicated organ. Luckily, merchantcircle.com helped me diagnose my brain injury.
First off was understanding how they actually diagnose their patients. What was really interesting was the use of SPECT scans to diagnose people. These are unique types of brain scans where they actually look at the living brain.
What makes the SPECT scan by Center For Holistic Psychiatry so unique is that it takes a picture of your brain in motion. Through it's unique techniques, the brain is able to be completely cross sectioned. Then a special computer can put together that cross section.
The reason that this type of scan is so unique, is because it allows doctors to view the entire brain. But it also enables them to look at things like blood flow at the same time. That means how the brain is actively functioning in your head.
The whole logic behind the brain scan is a better diagnosis. Even for traumatic brain injuries like mine, a lot of doctors try to diagnose based on symptoms. But that's not always enough. That doesn't always paint the full picture of what's happening in your head.
You have to remember that Amen Clinics don't provide an instant cure. They are going to be able to diagnose you better, but healing is still down to the doctors. They are just able to heal more effectively because of the better diagnosis.
Unfortunately I still battle with the problem all the time. It's one that's never really curable, but is more so treatable. That's why I still go, but I enjoy my time there. My doctors have been working to make me better, instead of using me as a drug guinea pig.
All in all I'd recommend my experience at Amen Clinics. While they are not revolutionary with their treatment methods, they are with their diagnostic technology. Sometimes that can make all the difference, and in my case it truly did.
