Reverend Bacon stated that we stay in a society that constantly propagates fear-based reasoning since vested interest groups find it lucrative to maintain the existing level of free-floating anxiety prevalent in society.
While fear did play a role in survival, as a momentary prompt in times of danger to decide whether to fight or flee, it had now become a pervasive state of mind in modern culture. The presence of fearful thinking led to reactive living because it stimulated the Reptilian Brain, our most primitive brain function. Alternatively, those who practiced love were able to access the higher order Mammalian Brain and Neocortex and live creative, successful lives.
The method to access love is to engage in the essential pairing of generosity with stillness. Kindness means to connect to others. By functioning as a tool of kindness, the necessary attributes of the Universe, one has the ability to give others the help that they need. Stillness, by contrast, helps a person change from within. It can be accessed through meditation, deep mindful breathing and various other techniques. Cardoza shared that he experiences the power of stillness by means of engaging in 20 minutes of gratitude mind-calming exercise each morning and that it created the right tone for the rest of his day.
